Far too often I find products with terrible designs, engineering flaws or frustrating graphic design elements. Think about that remote control you use at home. You love that “Previous Channel” button right? So does everyone, but on all my remotes it’s in the worst spot! That button should be right where the thumb is when you are holding the remote comfortably.
Don’t laugh, I know you all have the same frustrations with other products. How many of you had an aneurysm the last time you went to Yahoo.com? All that stuff popping out at you like your brain can actually register all that information. You have to quickly go jump back to Google.com before your brain explodes.
These are the things we can address on this blog and hopefully get business to change.
So keep your eyes open. Send me your complaints about products and I’ll check them out.
what’s worse is that the button is labeled “prev”. what’s that?
Can we also talk about “expected technology”? For example, technology that appeared in movies 20 years ago and hasn’t actually materialized yet.
1. Teleporting (first seen in Star Wars, then exploited in Star Trek)
2. Flying cars (Back to the Future)
3. Robots who are hot with human feelings and want to serve the general public (Blade Runner)
Where are these technologies when you need them? Do you know how many times I wake up wishing that my household robot has already made me coffee! Or instead of taking the 1 bus to work I can get dropped off in my flying car, or better yet attend that Monday morning business meeting by teleporting myself from my bed. Let’s start executing these great ideas! I am sure google is working on these as we speak.

These things will eventually be invented, but if Yahoo has anything to do with it your flying car will have 1,000 buttons and your robot will speak 100 languages at the same time…and will.
